All 5 cases of suspected new coronavirus in Virginia tested negative

Health officials from Virginia are monitoring the new coronavirus outbreak. Wednesday, all five of the suspected cases in Virginia have tested negative. There were three cases in central Virginia and two in northern Virginia that were all tested negative.

Flooding a big concern for Thursday in Heart of Virginia

It is likely that the heavy rain taking place on Thursday, February 6, will cause flooding across Lynchburg, Danville/Southside, and Roanoke. These locations will receive approximately between two and five inches of rain. The heavy rain will begin early on Thursday morning and continue throughout the day.

ICE arrests woman charged with child sex crimes in Virginia

Marissa Martinez, a Guatemalan national, was arrested again on Feb. 3 by ICE for felony indecent liberties with a child. She was originally arrested in Nov. 2019 for misdemeanor sexual assault of a child as well as assault. She will remain in ICE custody pending the result of her immigration proceedings.
